Network Time System Overview

Network Time System is a time sync software package containing NTP Server and NTP client apps for Windows that provides a precise tool for synchronization of all devices on the network with zero configuration installation. Both time server and client works as system services, have 32 and 64-bit versions and can be deployed via domain GPO. Network Time Server: can be configured to distribute custom time zone & offset, UTC or local time. It hosts NTP, SNTP and NTSv2 protocols and can receive exact time from external NTP server (NIST or ntp.org for example) as well as from GPS receiver connected to the server. It logs all system events to text file and eventlog. Time Server allows you to synchronize system time on your computers (any OS-based), servers, POS terminals, ATMs, cash registers, kiosks, security IP cameras, backup storages, routers, and more. Network Time Client works only on Windows and can automatically find Time Server on the network via own protocol (NTSv2) or use any NTP/SNTP time source instead. Network Time System can be used in scenarios when your company network is connected to the Internet, as well as when the network is isolated from the Internet for security reasons.
