DiscoverBrands Overview

DiscoverBrands is an improvement from traditional business directories such as Yellow Pages, both in structure and scope. In terms of structure, traditional business directories have predefined, finite categories in which organizations have to place themselves under a predefined category and subcategory close to the specific category and subcategory they belong to. For example, an organization that deals with relatively new subcategories such “Augmented Reality” and “AI” will place themselves under “IT” subcategory under “Computers and Internet” category, which is limiting to exposure of the organization to niche audiences looking for those specific categories and subcategories. DiscoverBrands on the hand enables organizations define as many keywords which represent the specific sub-categories under which they operate in under four broad categories; For-Profit, Non-profit, Governmental and Inter-Governmental. These keywords are able to be captured by our powerful search engine, in the sense that if the previously mentioned subcategories “Augmented Reality” and “AI” are keyed in will produce an array of brands under those keywords. In terms of scope, traditional business directories deal with organization units, i.e two or more persons that have come together to achieve a common purpose under a brand name. In today’s world, brands entail non-organizational units too such as products, services, campaigns, tv shows, blogs, apps etc which are not catered for by traditional business directories.
