Gladys Overview

Gladys keeps a shelf that holds things which you want to set aside, such as links, text snippets, map locations, contacts, images, photos, emails and messages (even if the application that the information came from is removed)

Gladys lets you concentrate on what you’re dragging out, without having to immediately know where'd where it needs to get dropped. This ultimately allows you to be far more productive, as you can concentrate on your current task and not have to switch between applications.

If you have many items you can easily search for them, or quickly delete any items that you no longer wish to keep. Not only does Gladys store items, but it also allows you to examine them in detail and drag out only the data that you are interested in. For example you may want to drag out just the image from a visual web page link, or keep only the URL itself.

You can also search for everything you have added to Gladys from Spotlight, and quickly add items into Gladys without having to drag (or from apps that may not support Drag and Drop yet) using its share extension instead. Advanced users can access raw data representations of items through the Files app, that can later be loaded into data-processing apps.

In addition to making drag and drop easier, Gladys is an ideal bookmarking tool that can bridge apps. For example you can quickly return to dropped email items by selecting 'Open', or quickly share links between different browsers. Finally, you can export your library to an archive as an additional backup, or you can merge it with items on another device.
